Condolence: Dear Tony, Mary Jo and family,
My brother Chris sent me the Vindicator Tribute to our dear Tina. She was a beautiful and fun and funny lady and was a great part of my growing up in Boardman and with you guys, the best next door neighbor ever. I have so many memories, I literally, could fill a small book. One outstanding memory was of course, the incredible wedding cake she made for my July 27, 1974 wedding. Special poppyseed with cream cheese icing,,,,and of course...some Italian Sponge cake too. I remember as a young kid, sitting in your kitchen chatting with her, often while she baked something. I remember how beautiful the living room and kitchen were....in white and blue....her favorite colors. And, she would always have the most glorious Italian music playing.....singing along.I prayed for her and you Tony, just yesterday in my morning prayers, and I told a young baker here at the restaurant where I do catering and events ( La Quinta, CA), about Tina's incredible baking skills and the Italian Sponge cake and the rarely used, poppyseed cake for my wedding. The young man will make a special order Italian sponge cake on November 18th for one of my clients. I will dedicate the design and making of that cake...to you, dear Tina. Much love to you all....good health...and happy heavenly dreams of the baking Queen. Colleen
