There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church with Rev. Gerald DeLucia celebrating the Mass for Mary Patricia Gaudio, 89, who passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband, Anthony J. Gaudio and her family. She was born February 20, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Battaglia) Campolito. She was a graduate of Boardman High School and worked as a comptometer for Strouss. She also was a professional wedding cake decorator and was well known for her Italian sponge cake, Lambeth and Australian cake decorating. Baking was her passion. She loved making cookies, pastries, and desserts for family and friends. Whatever she baked or cooked was done with perfection and love. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed traveling to Italy with her husband, Anthony, and spending time at Daytona Beach with her children and grandchildren floating in the pool. While at the beach Mary could be found reading romance novels which she often times traded with her sister, Carmel "Chickie." She loved to ballroom dance with her husband at Idora Park, Elms, and other venues in the area. She also enjoyed square and round dancing. She loved the Cleveland Indians, any basketball team she could watch, and was an avid fan of ice-skating. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She would pray her rosaries many times throughout the day. Mary will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Anthony J. Gaudio, whom she married May 27, 1948; four children, Anthony J. II (Mary Jo) Gaudio, Jareth J. (Lynn) Gaudio, Mary Joette Gaudio, and Timothy J. (Karen) Gaudio; 12 grandchildren, Anthony III (Lisa) Gaudio, Dominic (Amy) Gaudio, Mary Gaudio, Elizabeth Gaudio, Gabriella Gaudio, Jareth Gaudio (Ryan), Joseph Gaudio, Jessica Gaudio, Jeannine Lonardo, Timothy Gaudio II, Arleigha Gaudio, and Celina (Taylor) Pidgeon; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Dominic Gaudio; three step-grandchildren, Justen, Katrina and Josefa; two step-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Noah; two brothers, Joseph (Claudia) Campolito and John (Patricia) Campolito; two special cousins, Elsie Fabek and Jenny Angeloff; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Carmel Scardina.
