Private services were held for Harold "Hap" A. Powell, 82, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017. He was born Aug. 20, 1935, in California, Pa., the son of Harold S. and Ruth Edith (Williams) Powell. He courageously served his country in the U.S. Army, and then went on to work in the delivery area of Strouss warehouse. "Hap" was a Ham radio operator and went by the handle name "Grouch." His wife, the former Teru T. Takeuchi, passed away Dec. 24, 2013. Hap will always be remembered lovingly by his sister, Cindy Powell of Calabash, N.C. There were no calling hours. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the aides at Hampton Woods and Hospice of the Valley who graciously took such wonderful care of Hap. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
