There will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown for Agnes Hunter, 89, who passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, May 30, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 30, 1927, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Anna (Mudri) Benny. Agnes attended Penn-Ohio Business College and retired from Youngstown Hard Chrome after 30 years of service. She was a great worker and had a great financial mind. She was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to cook, bake and dance, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Dominic Church. Her husband, Chester W. Hunter Sr., whom she was married to for 68 years, passed away April 23, 2016. Agnes will always be remembered lovingly by her son, Chester Hunter Jr., of Boardman; 2 daughters, Cindy (Eli) Naffah, of Crescent City, CA., and Cathy (Greg) Sikora of Roulette, PA; granddaughter, Shauna Naffah; sister, Ann Ponigar of Poland; many loving nieces and nephews; and her dog, Rusty. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Robert (Martha) Benny; sister, Lillian (Stephen) Kukura; and brother-in-law, Alvin Ponigar. There will be no calling hours. The family would like to thank all of the home aides over the years and to the entire staff at Maplecrest Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care shown to Agnes.
