There will be a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for Jennie Linda Salerno, 85, who entered heavens gates on Saturday, February 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 26, 1931, in Youngstown, the daughter of Dominic and Amelia (Cotini) Bionci. She worked at the family business, the Italian Baking Company. Jennie was a beautiful, intelligent, strong, kind, loving, and hard working person who was very strong in her Christian faith. She enjoyed dancing, music, and cooking. Her home was always open to family and friends. She showed her love and compassion for all those whom she met. Her husband, George Salerno, whom she married in January of 1955, passed away in September of 1979. Jennie will always be remembered lovingly by her three children, Judge Amy Salerno (Joe Armeni) of Columbus, John (Kathy) Salerno of Punta Gorda, Fl., and Angela (Gary) Housteau of Boardman; three grandchildren, Alexandria and Christina Armeni, and Chloe Housteau; brother, Dominic (Darlene) Bionci of Cortland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son George Salerno; brother, Gino Bionci; and sister Concetta Lariccia. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 10 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman, and again from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
