He Made A Difference “Austie made a difference in our lives during a challenging time for our family. My father, an accomplished accordion player in his own right, was touched by Austie's accordion playing during his visits at Ashley Circle. The last time my father enjoyed Austie's playing he teared up, gathered all of his strength and said "Beautiful, just beautiful". Austie, tearing up himself, gathered with Dad and I in a loving embrace. I will never forget. A month later Austie accepted our invitation to play at my father's funeral in Pittsburgh. At the funeral Austie shouldered my fathers classic 70 year old accordion and breathed life into it by playing my father's favorite song "You Are My Sunshine" at the ceremony. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. He stayed with us that day and helped us send out Dad in style by playing wonderful Polkas and other great songs throughout the day. Austie you were a special blessing to the Wolk family. You made a difference in our lives and for that we are forever thankful. Travel safely my friend. Enjoy the polkas in heaven. We will meet again. Much Love to you and family - Ron, Lisa, Betty Jane, Cindy and Brian Wolk.” » Ron Wolk on January 2, 2019

I was saddened to hear of Austie's death. I heard him play the accordion in Liberty. I knew this was the man for our special 50th Oliva Reunion. We had over 100 relatives attend from all over the USA and Canada. He came and literally brought the house down! We were at Firestone Park in Columbiana on a beautiful July day. With the beautiful Italian music filling the air - it made the day. God bless you, Austie. Rest in peace. Regina Oliva
