Obituary for Michael James "Mike" Secre

Youngstown –It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael James “Mike” Secre on Oct. 8, 2018. He was born Sept. 29, 1958 in Youngstown, the son of Fredrick and Angeline “Ginger” (Cercone) Secre. Mike graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1976. He worked for 25 years at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, and most recently at Tiffany’s Bar and Grille in Boardman. Mike was the biggest Stevie Nick’s fan and loved watching movies. He also enjoyed Sunday dinners with his mother’s famous sauce and meatballs, which the whole family would fight over. Mike was a kind soul and was loved by all who knew him. Mike would say his greatest achievement was his son, Maxwell Michael Secre, whom he leaves to cherish his memory, along with Max’s sister, Simone Gant, who was like a daughter to Mike. He also leaves sisters, AnnaLisa Fawcett of Austintown, and Debra Beshara (Anthony) of Canfield; brothers, Rocco Secre of Boardman, Edmond Secre (Brady) of Cleveland, and David Secre (Cheri) of Poland. He also leaves Max’s mother, Francine Secre and her sisters, Joyce Congemi (Jerry Burnett), Janice Grasso and her son Michael, and Valerie VanDyke (Phil); numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friends, Clint Gearhart, and Karen Sommach. Family and friends may pay their respects from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, followed by a 4 p.m. funeral service, with Pastor Joseph Congemi officiating, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Family and friends may visit the Book of Memories at www.rossifunerals.com to view this tribute and send condolences to Mike's family.
