Obituary for John J. "Jack" DeMatteo Jr.

WARREN — There will be funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home for John J. DeMatteo Jr., 66, who passed away at his home Tuesday morning, Oct. 2.
Jack was born Jan. 22, 1952, in Youngstown, the son of John J. Sr. and Josephine M. (Costello) DeMatteo.
He was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
Jack retired after 30 years at General Motors and has worked the last 18 years with Fred Martin Mercedes. He was a member of U.A.W. 1112 and a past president of the Valley Referral Network. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jack will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Diane L. Jones, whom he married Sept. 20, 1987; his beloved dog, Tia; two brothers, Ron (Patti) DeMatteo and Brian DeMatteo; sister-in-law, Debora Palmer; brother-in-law, Mark (Penny) Jones; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
