Obituary for Joseph A. Campolito

Canfield—Joseph A. Campolito, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Battaglia) Campolito. Joseph courageously served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired as a meat manager from Santisti Sparkle Market in Girard after 35 years. He was a member of St. Christine Church. Joseph will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Claudia Magill whom he married June 1, 1968; six children, Joseph A. (Stephanie) Campolito of San Diego, Anthony J. “T.J.” Campolito of Hubbard, Connie D’Altorio of Canfield, Richard (Laurie) Campolito of Oceanside, California; Alicia (Stacey Starr) Campolito of Seattle, and Amanda Campolito of Newark; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, brother, John (Patricia) Campolito; caregiver, Michelle Fabian; and two brothers-in-law, Anthony Gaudio and Paul Scardina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Tina Gaudio, and Carmel Scardina. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 at St. Christine Church in Youngstown. Joseph’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses at MVI Hospice for the kind and compassionate care shown to him.
