Obituary for Joseph L. Muscatello

HUBBARD – Joseph L. Muscatello, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his residence, Countryside at the Elmwood in Hubbard.
Joseph was born Aug. 19, 1937, in Youngstown, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Galante) Muscatello and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1955 graduate of East High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Joseph was employed with Republic Steel, working in the blast furnace. He was then employed and retired from Mahoning County Engineers, a job he loved going to everyday. Joe loved spending time outside and enjoyed golf and fishing. He was on a bowling league for many years, with his high scores earning him a spot in the newspaper several times. He also loved music and enjoyed playing both the harmonica and the guitar and loved woodworking as well. He was always upbeat, and family and friends enjoyed the time they spent with him.
Joseph is survived by his children, Christina (Donna) Provenzale, Lisa (Thomas) Cook, Gina (Richard) Thomas, Joseph II (Dana) Muscatello, Kevin Sharp, and Jennifer Muscatello; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Rose (Angelo) Ciolli, June (John) Palermo, and Judith (Bill) Canacci; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Phyllis DeLucia, and Brenda Gaglione.
Private services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
