Obituary for Anna M. Barba

Anna M. Barba
CANFIELD – Private graveside services were held at Calvary Cemetery for Anna M. Barba, 87, who passed away Monday evening on May 21 with her loving family by her side.
Anna was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Youngstown, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Naples) Barba, and was a lifelong resident. She was the youngest of the family of nine brothers and sisters.
Anna was a member of St. Anthony’s Church of Brier Hill and was known by her many nieces and nephews as “Aunt Annie.”
Growing up in Brier Hill, Aunt Annie would often share many memories of the Italian heritage that existed there, especially the pizza her mom used to make.
She was a 1949 graduate of The Rayen School and was employed by several local companies until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed Saturday visits to the mall walking, shopping and dining. Aunt Annie also loved to visit and be visited by her many relatives.
Anna leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law Vivian Nicastro and Elsie Barba.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William Nicastro, Jerry Barba, Carmen Barba, and Steve Barba; and by four sisters, Katherine Herubin, Josephine Naples, Rose Mestichelli, and Antoinette Ranno.
Anna was the last surviving member of a long and loving family and is together again with her brothers and sisters. Her family and friends will always cherish the memories of them, and they will always be remembered.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
