Obituary for Anthony J. Orlando

Anthony J. Orlando, 77, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. He was born December 19, 1940, the son of James A. and Grace F. (Napolitano) Orlando. Anthony was a graduate of the Rayen High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown University. He was a longtime teacher in the Diocese of Youngstown, enjoying the company of the “Geezer Gang” of Ursuline High School in his retirement years. He gives special thanks to Tony Meranto, former principal at St. Anthony’s for treating him with kindness and respect. Anthony was the head golf coach at Ursuline High School where they won the AAA state golf tournament in 1975 and 1976. He led the team to state four consecutive years. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica. Anthony will always be remembered lovingly by his beautiful, wonderful and loving wife, the former Nancy Leonard, whom he married July 28, 2003; two sisters, Rosemary “Re-Ro” (Tom) Rosko, and Edie “baby sister” (Ron) DiBacco; five nephews, James (Stephanie) Rosko, Brian (Mihal) Rosko, Greg (Angela) Rosko, Stephen DiBacco, and Ronald (Julie) DiBacco; mother-in-law, Helen Leonard; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, followed by a 10 a.m. Memorial Mass with the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
