Obituary for Maureen P. "Moe" Johnson

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for Maureen “Moe” P. Johnson, 47, who passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 10, 1970, in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles H. and Patricia A. (Lawrence) Johnson. Maureen was a 1988 graduate of Struthers High School. She retired in 2018 from C.S.X. Railroad where she was a conductor and a brakeman. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church, L.A.O.H, and U.T.U. #1374. Maureen held several state office positions and was a past board member of the Lady of Knock Queen of Ireland Division. Her greatest joy in life was her son, Liam, who she adored. In her spare time, Maureen enjoyed bowling, and darts. Maureen will always be remembered lovingly by her son, Liam Johnson at home; four brothers, Brian (Jane) Johnson, Kevin J. (Janet) Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, and Daniel F. (Tammy) Johnson; two nephews, Elliott C. (Margaret) Johnson and Brendan D. Johnson; niece, Sally J. Johnson; and step-niece, Marta Burke. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by nephew, James Allen Johnson. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for the kind and compassionate care shown to Maureen. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the family.
