POLAND – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. in New Middletown, with the Rev. Larry Frient celebrating the Mass for Wallace J. McGregor, 94, who passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
He was born June 6, 1923, in Green Bay, Wis., the son of Arnold and Nettie (Tappa) McGregor.
Wallace retired as a warehouse foreman in 1984 from G.W. Berkheimer.
He loved watching television and completing crossword puzzles.
His wife, the former Betty Ann Etherton, whom he married Feb. 19, 1944, passed away July 22, 2009.
He will always be lovingly remembered by his three children, James (Brenda) McGregor of Portage, Ind.; twin daughters, Karen (James) Stahara of Youngstown, and Sharon (Chuck) Johnson of Poland; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, with three soon to be born.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother Merrill McGregor.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Robert Wetzel and staff and Hospice of the Valley for the kind and compassionate care shown to Wallace.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that monetary contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH. 44512.
