Obituary for Shirley Fae Gutierrez
There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday. Feb. 12, 2018, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for Shirley Fae Gutierrez, 73, who passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. She was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Wheelersburg, the daughter of Leonidion and Ebbie (Wesley) McGahan. Shirley worked as a custodian for the Simco Management Company for 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, singing, dancing, and cooking. Her home was always open to everyone. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Catholic faith. Shirley will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Leonardo Gutierrez, whom she married July 27, 1986; two daughters, Leah (Carl) Ervin, and Cheryl (Todd) Shall; son, George Westfall; two step-sons, Leonardo Gutierrez Jr., and Juan Gutierrez; three brothers, Edward, of Portsmouth, and Allen (Rosemary) of South Webster, and Dwight (Shirley) of Tifton, Ga.; sister, Susan Sweeney of Oxford, Ga; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Jackie, and Hoy; two sisters, Jean Bright and Anna McGahan; step-son, Anthony Gutierrez Fusco; granddaughter, Jennifer Strickland; and great-grandson, Damien McNulty. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Camelot Arms for the kind and compassionate care shown to Shirley. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the family.
