Barbara Ann Rotunno, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital following a year long illness. Barbara was born December 26, 1946 to Joseph and Helen Genova and lived in Lowellville for most of her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Rotunno on June 24, 1967 and they were married for 40 years until his death in 2008. Barbara graduated from Lowellville High School and moved out of the area during Larry’s time in the Navy but returned to Lowellville to raise her family. She operated a beauty shop in her home for many years. She enjoyed exercising at the gym with her friends. Barbara’s true passion was cooking and baking for family and friends and maintained many traditions especially during the holiday seasons. Above all, Barbara was very spiritual and her strong faith and compassion for others is what attracted many lifelong cherished friends. She is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Krissy, Phillip and his fiance’ Dawn Bolevich, grandchildren Vincent (Zoey), Nicole, Angelina, Mykenzie, Samantha, Sophia and great granddaughter, Annabella, brother-in-law Ronnie Rotunno and his wife Linda and sister-in-law Jackie. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Through this illness, Barbara was touched by many wonderful caregivers. We would like to especially thank Dr. Ashlee Russo, the ICU nurses on 2 West at St. Elizabeth’s Boardman Campus, Jamie Spickler and those who were by her side through this most difficult time. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Phillip Genova, her brother- in- law Andrew Rotunno and niece Amy Rotunno. Pastor Joe Thomas will officiate a Celebration of Barbara’s life at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
