Obituary for Jean Ann (Calabria) Davanzo

YOUNGSTOWN - Private services were held for Jean Ann (Calabria) Davanzo, 82, who passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 19, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of Luigi and Mildred (Testa) Calabria.
Jean was a graduate of Ursuline High School and was a homemaker.
She had many hobbies including, playing bingo and cards, going to the casino, and taking road trips.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed attending their sporting events, seeing them graduate from high school and college, and their weddings.
She owned and was very proud of her 1957 Chevy.
Another proud moment in Jean’s life was when she won Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini’s boxing gloves.
She will always be remembered lovingly by her five children, James (Lisa) Davanzo of Youngstown, Richard (Brenda) Davanzo of Poland, Anthony Davanzo of Austintown, Joe ( Dawn) Davanzo of Austintown, and Lori (Larry) Zarlengo of Lordstown; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Irene) Calabria of Austintown, and Jim Calabria of Niles; and sister, Della Kish of North Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Davanzo; and grandson, Frankie Davanzo. Arrangements were entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
