LOWELLVILLE - There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, for Mary Madeline (DiCioccio) Kiraly, 86, who passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. She was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Youngstown, the daughter of Cosmo and Mary (Ziccardi) DiCioccio. Mary was a 1948 graduate of Lowellville High School. She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church where she was baptized, made her First Communion, Confirmation, and was married. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, cooked for parish fundraisers, and assisted in preparing for mercy luncheons for parish families. Mary was a member of the Mount Carmel Society. She volu nteered at the Lowellville school, both new and old, in the kitchen for senior dinners. Mary was a talented cook and baker. Her grandchildren always wanted grandma¹s homemade cavatelli, macaroni, and wedding soup for special occasions, because no one made it better. She was known for her clothespin cookies, which people would request at weddings. She also baked tea rings, a nut roll in demand for the church¹s cake wheel fundraiser and for weddings. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed bocce league and spent 40 years playing in card clubs. Mary will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Michael S. Kiraly, whom she married Oct. 6, 1951; two daughters, Kathleen (William) Weimer of Whitehouse, and Michelle (Timothy) Sturgiss of Lowellville; six grandchildren, William (Megan) Weimer of Middletown, Del.; Dr. Mathew (Mary Lauren) Weimer of Huntington, W.Va., Zachary (Madisen) Weimer of Whitehouse, Timothy (Cassie) Sturgiss of Struthers, Michael (Julie) Sturgiss of Poland, and Rebekah (Brandon) Ostrode of Poland; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Carmel (DiCioccio) Marshall of Lakeland, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Samuel and Emerich DiCioccio; and sister Virginia Schialdone-Semko. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home.
