Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Franklin, 75
POLAND - Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Franklin, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Youngstown, the daughter of Oliver C. and Alma (Tavalario) Palatinus.
Jackie worked at General Electric, was a beautician, and for 17 years worked for the Boardman School System. She was a member of St. Luke Church. She was very active in the church where she volunteered her time with several different ministries, such as the RCIA program, baptismal preparation, CCD teacher, Women’s Renewal, Cursillo, leader of prayer, and was a lector and Eucharistic minister.
In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing cards, and vacationing at the beach. The highlight of her retirement was their cruise to Italy and other places in Europe in 2007.
Her husband, Harry J. Franklin, whom she married June 4, 1966, passed away June 29, 2017.
Jackie will always be remembered lovingly by her four children, Laura (Erik) Blohm of Garrettsville, David (Kerwin) Franklin of Scottsdale, Ariz., Paul (Tonda) Franklin of Tuscon, Ariz. and Mark (Heather) Franklin of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren, Luke, Lenci, Allee, Serena, and Isabella Blohm, Mac, Anthony, Cole, Jack, and Haydon Franklin, Olivia and Kiah Franklin, and Harrison and John Franklin; and sister Olivia (Harry) Thistlewaite of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, followed by an 8 p.m. Cursillo Bible service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at St. Luke Church in Boardman, with the Rev. John Keehner celebrating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jacqueline’s name to MVI Hospice Care of Youngstown, or to the Alzheimer’s Network in Youngstown.
