Barbara Jean Stella Domagalski Yarab, 77, a long-time resident of the Boardman-Youngstown area, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. Barbara died of Alzheimer’s related complications. Barbara was born on February 14, 1940, in Youngstown, the daughter of Edward J. and Clara T. (Lipinski) Domagalski. Barbara is survived by her faithful and loving husband, David Alan Yarab, whom she married in 1960. Barbara was an amazing and supportive mother to her children: Susan A. Yarab of Ft. Myers, Florida; Donald S. Yarab of Cleveland; Robert E. Yarab of Austintown; Laura L. Yarab (Jeffrey Tatar) of Boardman, who was her primary caregiver; and Brian A. Yarab (Dona) of Marietta, Georgia. Barbara will also be sorely missed by her grandchildren Alex Yarab, Holly Yarab, and Abbey Tatar. She is also survived by her sister Sally Johnson. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother Edward. Barbara successfully fulfilled many roles during her cherished time on this earth. She was very active throughout her life in the church and never hesitated to fight for what was right despite how difficult it may have been. Barbara was also ahead of her time and exhibited great entrepreneurial spirit. She was a licensed beautician, a licensed cosmetic therapist who owned and operated her own electrolysis hair removal business, she was a “property manager” who owned and managed apartment buildings and condominiums with her husband, and she was the owner and operator of a well-respected local print shop for many years. Barbara loved socializing, music (singing, playing the organ and accordion), and dancing. She also had a strong artsy side which enabled her to create beautiful paintings, decorations, ceramics, and crafts. She was also adept at crocheting and knitting. Finally, she was able to sew the best trendy outfits and Halloween costumes for her children one could possibly imagine. Barbara’s personality was very bright, like the colors she loved, and she always had a smile on her face and a glint in her eye to share with others. Friends may call at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman, on Wednesday, November 8, from 5 to 7pm. A brief prayer service at the funeral home will be held on Thursday, November 9, at 9:15 am, before proceeding to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am.
