There will be funeral services at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, August 14, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church for Jennie DiOrio, 99, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. She was born September 12, 1917, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Carmel (DiMaio) Felde. She worked as a clerk for F.W. Woolworth Company. Jennie was a charter member of St. Luke Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Happy Hearts Senior Citizens and The Assumption Village Red Hat Society. Jennie was a very kind and compassionate person. She would always send cards and flowers to family and friends for special occasions. She was an outstanding cook and baker and her home was always open to everyone. Her husband, Dominic DiOrio, whom she married April 28, 1951, passed away February 23, 2004. She will always be remembered lovingly by her two daughters, Ann Marie (George) Firth of Boardman, and Carmel (Greg) Mastran of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughter, Andrea (Jesse) Plaskett of Madison, OH. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Sam Felde; and sister Jennifer Felde. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Assumption Village, especially the Special Care Unit, and Hospice of the Valley for the kind and compassionate care shown to Jennie.
