Obituary for Joseph A. Palermo



Joseph A. Palermo, 83

COLUMBIANA - There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, for Joseph A. Palermo, 83, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
He was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Youngstown, the son of James and Ruby (Caruso) Palermo.
Joseph was a 1952 graduate of The Rayen School and courageously served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. He owned B & J Glass Block for 25 years and also worked for U.S. Steel as a brick layer and supervisor, and in maintenance for National Forge.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed golfing.
He will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Rosemarie Moulin; two daughters, Mary Jo (Joseph) Lenefonte of Boardman and Carol Palermo of Youngstown; son Jim (Judy) Palermo of Zionsville, Ind.; four grandchildren, Joanna (Ivan) Garcia, and Carmen, Anthony, and Mario Palermo; sister Barbara (Frank) Ruggiero; nieces and nephew; stepson Bobby Cannon; and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m., prior to the service on Tuesday, May 16, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
