Obituary for Stacey E. (Jenkins) Clarett

Stacey E. (Jenkins) Clarett
Mrs. Stacey E. (Jenkins) Clarett, 52, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by her family. Mrs. Clarett was born March 18, 1965, in Meadville PA, a daughter of Faye and Johnny Wallace and Edward and Sandy Overton. She was joined in marriage to Alfred Clarett on September 16, 2006. She spent her formative years in Meadville, PA., where she attended Second District Elementary School, growing up with her grandparents, 2 aunts, and an uncle, who was more like a big brother to her. She then moved to Youngstown and attended Hayes Junior High School and The Rayen School where she was an active member of the choir, drama team, and the flag line. While in high school, Stacey became a member of the Youngstown Chapter of the Guardian Angels, and she studied the art of Kung Fu. Stacey was compassionate with unconditional love for her family and friends. She was always willing to step up for the occasion. She developed a love and passion for music and singing at an early age, singing with family and later as a choir member in her church. She soon became known for her distinct and remarkable voice and sang for many functions locally and around the country with several well-known professional bands as well. For many years Stacey worked as a STNA and physical therapy aid, later graduated from the police academy and worked as a corrections officer and Deputy Sheriff for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department. She attended the Bradley Bible College and was a licensed minister. Loving memories of Stacey will be carried on by her family, her husband, Alfred; her parents, Faye and Johnny, Edward and Sandy, Erica McGee of Toledo, stepdaughter Adrienne Clarett of North Carolina, 2 stepsons, Alfred Clarett III of Youngstown, Antoine Clarett of Youngstown. She had one sister Tiffany Bryant (Alfred) of Bedford Hts.; 4 brothers, Christopher Wallace (Obiribea) of Youngstown, Darrin Overton (Julie) of Meadville, Adam Overton (Dianna) of Lockport, NY., Brian Glover, and his wife, of Meadville PA.; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, her beloved dog Chester; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceding Stacey in death were her grandparents Dorothy Mae Overton, James and Rosie Lee Jenkins, Johnny and Iberer Wallace; her brother, John R. Wallace Jr., and several aunts and uncles. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28 at Tri-C Church, 3300 Hudson Avenue in Youngstown, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hubert D. Clardy Jr., celebrating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
