Larry "Cookie" A. Cicoretti, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, January 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 12, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of Larry and Mary (Bartholomew) Cicoretti. Larry was a graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as a mechanical engineer at Emprotech in Cleveland until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved baseball and coached various teams over the course of 35 years. He designed and patented the Xycor spinal implant for minimal invasive spinal surgery which was F.D.A. approved. He also designed and created the plans and programs from the unmanned submarines to elements of the NASA space shuttle program. Larry will always be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, the former Marianne Delmont, whom he married, March 17, 1965; mother, Mary Cicoretti of Liberty Township; daughter, Monique (Tom) Abbas of Enola, Pa.; son, Dean (Andrea) Cicoretti of Canfield; two granddaughters, Giana and Aviana Abbas; and sister, Donna (Andy) Bodzak of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017, with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
