There will be a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Church 430 Williamson Avenue in Youngstown with Rev. Edward J. Neroda celebrating the life of Joseph J. Czajka, 73, who passed away peacefully Sunday, December 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 21, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Joseph J. Sr. and Louise (Repasky) Czajka. He was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended YSU. He retired from the Mahoning County Sheriff Department after thirty years of service. Joseph was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, F.O.P #141, and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #274, where he was a fourth degree Knight. He enjoyed dancing at Kuzman's, listening to polka music, and spending time with his many friends and the local coffee shop. Joseph will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Patty Teleis, whom he married July 17, 1976; three daughters, Theresa (Eric) Reznok, Tina (Tim) Drowns, and Shari (David) Gosnell all of O'Fallon, MO; son, Kenneth (Lori) Teleis of Kent; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved animals, Peppy, Mimzi, and Jasiu. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 22 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
