Obituary for Walter E. "Kutzy" Tocicki

Walter “Kutzy” E. Tocicki, 87
YOUNGSTOWN - There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Christine Church in Youngstown for Walter “Kutzy” E. Tocicki, 87, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Francis (Novak) Tocicki.
Walter was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and courageously served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. He then went on to become a firefighter with the Youngstown Fire Department, retiring as engineer after 30 years of service. He was also co-owner of Spring Lakes Golf Course for 25 years and worked as a consultant at Bill’s Sales and Service. He was a member of St. Christine Church, where he served as an usher and a member of I.A.F.F. Local 312. Walter was an avid lifelong golfer, enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.
He will always be remembered lovingly by his two children, Denise (William) Patrick of Poland, and Joseph (Michele) Tocicki of Canfield; four grandchildren, Christopher Patrick, Heather (Christian) Tabay, Nick Tocicki, and Andreanna Tocicki; great-granddaughter Cecelia Tabay; and sister Jean Tocicki of Boardman.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia “Dolly” whom he married June 23, 1956; and four siblings, Lillian Oleksak, Stella Suchora, Edward Tocicki, and Helen Laska.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
