Raymond T. Vallinger, 94
BOARDMAN – Private services were held for Raymond Vallinger, 94, who passed away peacefully Monday evening, May 16, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born March 27, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of John J. and Mabel (Furr) Vallinger.
He courageously served his country in the U.S. Army with the 63rd infantry during World War II.
He worked for U.S. Steel and was a member of St. Luke Church. Raymond enjoyed working in the yard, working bingo at the church and selling I.R.S.
His wife, the former Connie DelSignore, whom he married Sept. 20, 1942, passed away June 13, 2004.
Raymond will always be remembered lovingly by his three children, Rosemary Miller of Boardman, with whom he made his home, Frank (Gloria) Vallinger of Poland, and John (Melanie) Vallinger of Poland; five grandchildren, Michael (Marla) Miller of Struthers, Mary (Kris) Brown of Boardman, Tricia Vallinger of Poland, Tyler Vallinger of Sandusky, and Trent (fiance Katie) Vallinger of Poland; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Luca.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Vallinger; and two sisters, Jane Getsy and Virginia Baumgartner.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Harbor Light Hospice, especially Brenda B., Melissa, Ave, Ron and Brenda for the kind and compassionate care shown to Raymond.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman.
