Richard “Dick” A. Nard, 74
YOUNGSTOWN - Richard A. “Dick” Nard, 74, passed away Sunday morning, March 6, 2016.
He was born April 24, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of Albert and Mary (Hribko) Nard.
Dick was a 1959 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He worked at Loblaw’s Foods, Chuck’s Auto Body, Ralph’s Sparkle, TriCounty Beverage, Mahoning Auto Automobile Appraisers, and General Motors in Lordstown, and retired in 1994. Dick was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown.
Dick had his own band “Dick Nard and the Imperials” in the 60s and 70s. He also played in the bank with Mike Roncone, Joe Fedorchak and Eddie Vallus. Dick was owner of Two’s Company DJ’s, along with his wife, Lori. They were the DJ’s at A&W Restaurant for 25 years for the Friday night car cruises. They were also the DJ’s for the Mahoning Valley Old Car Club, Tuesday Night Car Cruise at Chick-Fil-A in Boardman, and Austintown Senior Center. Dick was a member of the Youngstown Rod and Custom Club for many years. He enjoyed building street rods, going to car shows, golf, and customizing diecast cars.
Dick will be missed by the love of his life and best friend, Dolores “Lori” (Butchko) Nard, whom he married May 26, 1962; two daughters, Vicki (Mike) DiGregorio, and their children, Michelina and Vito DiGregorio, and Kimberly (Greg) Bowser of Bartlett, Tenn.; brother Bob (Jackie) Nard, and niece Shelly Nard of Las Vegas; nieces Carol (Mike) Masterpietro and Shirley (Bill) Lang of Florida; and nephew Michael (Debbie) Petrusovich, and niece Debbie Salada of Florida. Dick will be sadly missed by his wonderful and loving dog, Ginger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nephew, Bobby Nard.
As per Dick’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at a later date.
The family respectfully requests contributions be made in Dick’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
