Obituary for Chester Lawrence Eppley

Chester Lawrence Eppley, 82

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for Chester Lawrence Eppley, 82, who passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 26
Chester was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of John and Francis (Zaskey) Eplawy.
He attended South High School and was employed as an Electrician at Republic Steel for 37 years, where he retired in 1985.
Chester proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post No. 1222. Chester was a great dancer. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Chester will always be remembered by his wife, the former Audrey Shacklock, whom he married April 15, 1952; a daughter, Gail Seidita of Youngstown; a son, Gary (Barbara) Eppley of Stow; six grandchildren, Christopher (Hajnal) Eppley, Kimberly (Brian) Medellin, Charles Eppley, Katherine Eppley, Melissa Seidita and Danielle Seidita; and two great-grandchildren, Lia Grace and Luca Katalin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Brownie” Eplawy; and six sisters, Sophie Eplawy, Ceil Yanek, Charlotte Cook, Genevieve Brott, Helen Ricciardi and Nell Bator.
Chester resided on Ivanhoe Avenue in Youngstown for over 50 years and became a resident of the Commons at the Greenbriar in Boardman during the summer of 2011. He had been living at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center since early December. His wife, Audrey, continues as a resident of the Commons at the Greenbriar, 8060 South Ave., Room 102, Boardman, OH 44512, and wishes to thank the staff members of Greenbriar for being kind and for their considerate care.
Friends may call from 2:30 until time of service at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
